Hi, fellow Fishermen, would you like to know more about guided fishing in Amsterdam ?
We herewith write you our open and honest article about Fishing in Amsterdam at the Guided way.
nice place, the Nieuwe Meer

As a Fishing Tourist, you just should visit our Fishing Capital city Amsterdam for sure, especially when you love large cities and everything what comes with that. Enjoy the pleasures, channels, culture, tto smoke eel and so on. 33 Years, the author spend his time full live there. We just love Holland and Amsterdam. We love Fishing in Amsterdam, we love the people, scenery and the rest, but we never needed a Fishing guide in Amsterdam, because we found it out ourselves. But looking at a your hand, a good guide will show you the way ! So, Check the following article out and take your chance when you visit Holland and Amsterdam next time.

There are real nice Predator places to be fished at, especially when you are guided by a devoted fishing guide.
You may want to try Trolling, Vertical Jig, Dropshot or Dead baits.

Pike :
Our largest pike in Amsterdam reported caught(C. Overwater, who we will write a tribute article later about, he passed away) was 128 cms.
2 years ago, an angler claimed to have lost a monstrous Pike at the IJ (N-Amsterdam) of around 160 cms. A bit too large and fishing gossip we all should think. For believing the unbelieved, we have lend, urg, urg,(USA found and also reported in Holland) a pictured and (sorry not Amsterdam) located pure Dutch swimming Pike(she was released), which we don't want to catch, but maybe you want to give a shot at it's here swimming neece (we drawed the glasses). 40Pound Pike Monsters are known and pictured.

Zander :
The largest Zander we found, was 102 cms. We have spoken a professional fisherman(J. Hoeven, Enkhuizen), who fished the Ijsselmeer for 18 years, he claimed to have caught a 125 cms, in one of the nets during his profession. Also Mr. Jan van der Pal, chairman fishing union Vrolijke vissers Grootslag, told us to have found 2 huge zanders of around 125 cms a few decades ago.

Asp : A newcomer in Holland since around 2 decades. An eastern immigrant who is increasingly stealing dutch fishermen' hearts. They can grow around the meter

Perch/Redvin : during a guided trip, you'll might meet mr. or mrs Perch. They are really beautiful at all sizes.

There are two active guides in Amsterdam who are chamber of commerce  registered(we will check this info later) and who claim they are, what an Amsterdam tourist angler should look for.

To be honest, we don't know. We just should take that guide with the biggest smile. Haha, Amsterdam guided sportsfishing promotions. But, Whats live, when we can't make any fun ? No, we are serious, read the top again. We know of guides who love making their guests smile, who burst in a spontanious opera while fishing and who will take your(or standard provided) rod and you to the rightest possible fishing place to catch your dutch dream of a lifetime. We have checked both guides and we have additional info. Mr Jules Steijn is, on-paper, the first Full-Time, Catch, Photo and Release fishing guide in Holland. He is also the current holder of a catfish record, for a cat caught in Asia. How much more advertisement can he make for himselves !

Check him out ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR3dwRt4x4g

Both guides will probably not promise you that you will catch, but when you don't, they might back you up. Amsterdam is just a little bit difficult for a guide and fishing always is fishing. No standard multiple catching and you might be able to make you a no-catch deal in advance as all dutch guides, just want their customers to get what they are paying for.

Have you choosen one of the Amsterdam guides, you might want to consider the IJ(despatch behind Central Station) or maybe de Nieuwe Meer(trol or dropshot, also mixed angling possible) to go fishing.
The Nieuwe Meer has some better scenery then the IJ but at both places good catches are possible. A real nice thing is trying the Amsterdam channels, just trol or jig around and enjoy.

The places and info can be found or later found as an article.
The already Open Fishing Holland® google map is under construction. Both places will be shown. Bit by bit we build.
